Bro. Lance Lewis became the Campus Pastor effective July 17, 2011. He and his wife, Becky, have three children, Hannah (13), Grace (11) and Will (2).
Bro. Lance grew up in a Christian home in Tyler and accepted Christ at the age of 9. After graduation from Robert E. Lee High School, he pursued his education at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall and the University of Texas at Tyler, graduating from UT Tyler. He pursued his Masters at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminar in Ft. Worth and later graduated from BH Carroll Theological Seminary, a Southern Baptist Seminary located in Arlington, TX.
Bro. Lance is not only well educated but has extensive experience in the ministry. Since 2002 he has served at Mt. Sylvan Baptist Church as Youth Minister and most recently as Interim Pastor. From 1995 to 2002, he served as Youth Minister at Noonday Baptist Church, and prior to that he served two years as Assistant to Minister of Recreation at Green Acres Baptist Church.
